What you will do: 
As the Director of Compensation, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping how we reward our people, leading the shift towards a skills-based pay model. This isn’t just about maintaining the status quo – it’s about rethinking and modernizing our approach to compensation to align with our company’s forward-thinking goals. You’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring our compensation strategies are competitive, fair, and in sync with eXp’s mission, while steering the company toward a skills-based approach over the next 18-24 months.
Compensation Philosophy and Strategy:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compensation philosophy and strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals and supports the transition to a skills-based pay model.
  • Collaborate with HR Leadership to ensure compensation practices are integrated with broader Talent Management and Talent Marketplace initiatives.
  • Employ innovative and unconventional approaches to compensation
Skills-Based Pay Model:
  • Drive the adoption of a skills-based pay model, including the creation of skills taxonomies and competency frameworks.
  • Develop and implement skills assessments to evaluate and reward employees and teams based on skills and contributions.
Market Analysis and Benchmarking:
  • Conduct regular market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices.
  • Utilize compensation surveys and other data sources to inform compensation decisions and strategies.
Compensation Program Management:
  • Administer and manage compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, and incentive plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations related to compensation.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
  • Utilize HR analytics to inform compensation strategies, measure effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Track and report on key compensation metrics, including pay equity, market competitiveness, and internal consistency.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with HR partners, finance, and business leaders to understand compensation needs and provide strategic guidance.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for compensation initiatives.
Employee Communication and Education:
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees about compensation programs and practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on compensation-related matters.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and improve compensation processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in compensation management.
How you will grab our attention: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation highly desirable 
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in compensation management, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing compensation strategies, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in developing and implementing skills-based pay practices, including the creation of skills taxonomies and competency frameworks.
  • Strong background in market analysis, benchmarking, and compensation program management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with HRIS and compensation management systems.
  • Proficiency in utilizing data and analytics to drive compensation decisions, with experience in measuring and reporting on compensation metrics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations related to compensation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
